It's been four years since Bryan Kocis' life was snuffed out, but the men responsible for his death have continued to live. New photographs released of the killers (exclusive to this blog), Harlow Cuadra and Joseph Kerekes, reveal that prison life has not been favorable to them.

Prison is meant to suck the life out of you literally. Especially the American Prison system one of the harshest in the Western World.
ReplyDeleteIn California much has been made of the increasing cost of Geriatric care in prison. Shocking in the LA Times report they noted geriatric meant the physical condition of the convict not actual age. Many Prisoners in a medical nursing prison are in their 50's and 60's.
In an era when lifespans are longer than ever the avg lifespan of a convict is 25 to 30 years shorter.
I once mentioned on this blog the Death Penalty swiftly imposed as it was through most of History is far more merciful than the "Living Death" of "Life without Parole" and the modern prison designed to destroy a man physically,mentally and spiritually.
Do I feel sorry for Joe and Harlow?
No I feel pity which is much more damning.
Harlow is almost unrecognizable. He seems to have suffered much more than Joe.

Harlow's hair is still dark, and he looks like he has packed on weight. He was a fat teenager. His half-brother David Zaldivar posted Harlow's middle school fat pics on his MySpace page. Joe looks like he has lost a lot of weight.

ReplyDeleteThe standard view is that Harlow and Joe murdered Kocis so they could hire Sean Lockhart to be in their own pornographic films. You would think that the proper inducement would be just to offer Sean more money instead of a 2002 Jetta and a chore painting the foundation of the house. In September 2008 I proposed a global theory of the case posted on Chinchilla Jim's blog and maybe on Peter's.

A matter of curiosity PC: what is meant by the photos being released "exclusive to this blog?" That seems a bit strange. Is the general public able to contact the Pennsylvania DOC and obtain recent photos of an inmate?

ReplyDeleteWow, for me it's the exact opposite Asim. Harlow looks like Harlow with a bit more weight, as Geoff said, while Joe, extremely emaciated and with a shaved head, is unrecognizable to me.

The cover that you have from that link is an old/original idea (probably still on Amazon, which hasn't yet been updated). The cover that Andrew and I actually agreed upon with the publisher is currently shown on this site, the publisher's site, and our facebook page. Hope this helps to clear any confusion. :)
